Dr. Fel Rocci has over 30 years of dentistry experience, and welcomes you to Gateshead Dental today!

We Offer the Following Services:

Teeth Cleaning
Teeth cleanings do more for your oral health than conquer calculus and remove plaque. Maintaining regular visits with our Hamilton dentist for professional cleanings lower the amount bacteria in your mouth and prevents cavities (tooth decay).

Regular professional gum and teeth cleanings provide your mouth with a clean and healthy environment. Heart disease, bad breath, and cavities can all be linked to periodontal disease. Visiting our practice twice a year, or every six months is a good preventative measure.

Although daily brushing helps, the dentist uses professional tools required for a proper cleaning. We will remove tartar and plaque buildup on your teeth through a procedure called ‘scaling’ to ensure that your smile stays beautiful!

Emergency Dental Care
Sometimes, unexpected problems can arise and require emergency care from a dentist. You can count on our dedicated team to help you in the event of a dental crisis.

Our emergency dental services are here to help you through difficult times when you need urgent care. We are committed to offering the best services in emergency care for our patients.

Cosmetic Fillings
Dental cavities (tooth decay) are caused by mouth bacteria that break down the enamel on your teeth. The dentist carefully removes this decay and then repairs the tooth damage by filling in the holes in your teeth.

This procedure maintains the functionality and aesthetics of your teeth and is one of the most common procedures performed by our Hamilton dentist today.

Fillings used to be made using silver or gold we now use a composite resin instead. Fillings are coloured to match your teeth for an attractive appearance and a beautiful smile.

TMJ Treatment
TMJ a term used to describe a series of symptoms that occur when the jaw joints and associated muscles are disrupted. It is a very common condition and can lead to symptoms like ear pain, jaw pain, headaches, shoulder tension, neck aches, back aches, and more.

Dr. Fel Rocci is TMJ specialist and offers holistic TMJ treatment. He will work with you to provide a lasting solution to treat your unique set of symptoms.

Custom Shaded Crowns
Crowns, also known as caps, are a restoration procedure done by dentists to cover a damaged tooth. The crown becomes the new external surface of the tooth, rather than filling a hole as a cavity filling does. If a tooth is excessively cracked, chipped, or decayed, a crown is the best option. Crowns are made in a lab and fitted over the tooth. The Hamilton dentist cements the crown in place so that it completely encases the remaining tooth structure.
Denture Services
Dentures are false teeth used to replace damaged or missing teeth. They are custom made to fit your mouth, so they take on the appearance of your natural teeth. Our dentist is able to get your beautiful smile back easier than ever.

Traditionally, dentures have been removable, but modern techniques can now create dentures that are secured in place with dental implants. This gives wearers greater comfort and stability. This newer style of denture also covers less tissue, which allows a greater ability to taste than the traditional dentures.

Root Canal Treatment
When cavities or dental caries penetrate the outer tooth layers of enamel, the need for a root canal can develop. Bacteria can travel through the enamel and dentin into the pulp of a tooth, which holds arteries and nerves. As this happens, a tooth can become sensitive to hot and cold and can be accompanied by persistent and severe pain.

As this stage, the dentist would perform a root canal procedure by drilling deep into the tooth and cleaning the pulp chamber with appropriate tools to eliminate all the bacteria. This procedure takes one or two visits but will result in a pain-free tooth.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Wisdom tooth removal (also known as wisdom tooth extraction) is a quick and common procedure.

There are two main reasons to remove wisdom teeth: there is no room for them and they become impacted, or they are too difficult to keep clean and decay. An impacted tooth may cause swelling and pain in the gums and jaw or even lead to infection.

Depending on the wisdom tooth’s stage of growth, our Hamilton dentist may administer local anesthetic and simply perform a tooth extraction, or the tooth might need dental surgery to remove.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is another option for replacing missing teeth. It permanently anchors a prosthetic tooth to the patient’s jawbone. A titanium rod is placed with a drill into the bone and then left to heal. The new tooth is crafted and fitted into the space and held there with rods or screws and cement.

A dental implant looks and feels like a regular tooth. It promotes bone retention healthy gingiva as a result of pressure on the rod from chewing and biting.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Patient anxiety can be calmed during a dental visit with the use of nitrous oxide, which is a safe form of sedation used to make patients more comfortable during their procedure.

Patients remain awake while using nitrous oxide and can interact with our Hamilton dentist. The nitrous oxide gas is administered through a breathing mask, and its calming and numbing effects are reversed within 3-5 minutes after treatment.
